Conservative of Bust

So I think to myself, I think: John McCain is going to be the Republican Nominee...how very un-Republican.

Or at least, how very un-conservative.

Now I haven't lost faith that Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee are going to be thorns in the side. The call to drop the nomination race and just accept McCain as the undisputed winner is stupid. It would be like, I dunno, a NASCAR racer getting into the Daytona 500 and deciding that the leader is just too damn far ahead, why finish? (and then doing donuts in the middle of the track..at least that's what I would do).

Political pundant Sean Hannity even dismisses Huckabee. Mr. mouthpiece of the right wing conservatives pretty much endorses MCAIN. I sometimes wonder if, I dunno, back in 1999 when I flipped my car a dozen or so times off of I-75 that maybe I actually did die, and this is another world I flipped into, where crazy marries crazier, and they have insane babies.
The race isn't over. And you know, it's all or nothing for the Republicans. So IF Huckabee stays in (and to a lesser extant, Ron Paul, any impact will do), and he WINS some delegates, they could very well go into the convention without the numbers to win. AND THEN you'd have a Republican National Convention worth tuning into! It would be each nominee, debating for days, getting character speakers and witnesses up for support of them, laying out their individual platforms in a frenzied pace to secure the nomination. It would be...well, akin to English politics, actually (in energy, not in political discourse).
I'd watch that.

Especially since, media and political spin not-with-standing, MCCAIN IS NOT A TRUE CONSERVATIVE.

Hell, there hasn't be a true conservative in YEARS. Hell, even Ronald Reagan didn't match all the criteria of a true conservative (fiscally speaking, tax cuts do not make you a conservative if you piss away the balance in deficit spending)

So that should be the motto for the two closest candidates for conservative that the Republicans have this year (Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee, in case you didn't know, they are still in the race). Conservative or Bust.

Has a nice ring to it. (if you're a conservative, if you're a hell-bound moderate to liberal like myself, there's no hope for you)

Actually, I'll blog on that later on. I feel like I may have chosen the wrong side when I was young and stupid. Not that I'm giving up on the Democratic Party, but I think it's about time to evaluate where we stand, starting with myself.

Cuz, you know, I don't like talking about myself. Ever.
