Transformers - Or "Take that, Spider-Man 3!"

So yeah, there was this show on when I was a kid called Transformers. Based on a toy line, it was kinda cool. Toys were better than the show, though. Made of metal, back when Toys were Toys (not like the crap they make today. Cheap ass plastic, un-inspired waste of money toys. Ugh.).

Yeah, so anyway, it's a movie now. Only took roughly 20 years for technology to catch up to the imagination of the 80's to the point where they could make a decent flick based on these things.

I had heard of this live action Transformers Movie, and you know, I was kind of skeptical. Especially when I heard Michael Bay was involved. But then I saw the trailer during Spider-Man 3 (the best part of Spider-Man 3...I kid, I kid..well, sort of kid...). The trailer was great, and I saw good old Spielberg was involved, so hey, I'd give it a shot.

And it was a great film! I laughed a lot. It was full of awesome action sequences, I didn't have to be a die hard fan to know what was going on...it was all pretty straight forward. I highly recommend it. I'll buy it on DVD eventually, and that's an honor because not just anything gets into my DVD collection.

Not for the kiddies, though. Too much swearing and violence. I repeat, unless you're a bad parent, don't drag your brat to this flick.

For all the bad parents, feel free to drag your brat to the movie...and feel the wrath of all eyes upon you judging you and sentencing you to a special circle of Hell.

Enter The Blog

Once upon a time, Tom "2Tum" Toner gave me a livejournal account so I could make fun of it. I thought Livejournal accounts were stupid. I mean, you're writing in a Journal, a fancy Diary...why would you want anybody to read it? I had fun for awhile, tried to get serious a few times, but in the end I just gave up on it.

Next came Myspace. A great place to keep up with friends and family, and to tune into lots of indie music, but not really a great place to write, despite it's blog feature.

So now I'm here. I might have found a place the fits me, if not, hey, it's free.

Owner of ComiX-Fan Eric J. Moreels asked me repeatedly when we launched the site to write a regular column. The few times I did writer a column for the site, combined with my reviews and interviews along with my journalism background must have impressed him in some way, shape or form. I always declined (just like I declined to be the Official ComiX-Fan Financial Guru, just because I had a Financial background didn't make me the most qualified).

This is about as close as I'll ever get. The purpose of this blog, besides the dumb people I see on a regular basis, will be my thoughts on anything and everything, except my family (unless it's something positive, no need to drag them into drama or negativity) . If Eric ever sees this, he'll be glad to know that I'll most likely touch upon the Comic Book Industry, it just won't be for ComiX-Fan. One day I may write a tell all about my time at the site, but since it's been years since I stepped down, I don't think anybody would care now anyway.

I don't know if anybody will ever read this blog. And I don't really care. If I wanted a higher profile, I'd take up journalism again, or start posting like mad on message boards like the good old days.

It's for me mostly, not you. And if you find it, and read it, and are educated by it in some way, so be it. Glad I could help. If not, sorry I wasted your time. But then again, I didn't make you come here, so I'm not TOO sorry.....
